It is rather amazing to find many people don’t believe, or even understand the benefits of a detox.
The truth is, toxins build up in the body whether you believe it or not.
To many of you, this would appear to be basic knowledge, but given that for some people this is the very beginning of their health journey, they may never have given it a single thought before. I guess a lot of us don’t stop and take notice or start to make health enquiries, until something goes wrong with our health, and that my friend is sadly human nature.
For me it began after my father passed away from cancer, and I became aware of the current health crisis our society is facing today. 50 years ago, I believe that only one in 80 would die from cancer. Today the latest statistics show that one in 4 will die of a particular cancer (and that’s beside mentioning heart disease or other top killers).
Two things I have come to understand about this so called cancer mystery,
is: toxaemia is the universal cause of disease and, cancer is always the result of an immune system that has quit.
Suffering is something that no human or animal should ever have to experience. We must take responsibility and care for ourselves, as good health is there for all of us if we strive for it.
CHANGE YOUR DIET AND IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH.
Dr Lorraine Day, M.D. author and health speaker explains in her teachings that “germs don’t cause disease anymore than flies cause garbage. ”The garbage is what attracts the flies, and that’s basically what happens in the body. The dead and dying tissue in the body (acidic conditions, caused by the way we are eating & living) attract the clean up crew- the bacteria and viruses”.
As an avid health enthusiast I discovered many people have healed their bodies of diseases and various ailments such as cancer, Diabetes, IBS, Obesity, High Blood Pressure, Colitis, Asthma, Fibro myalgia, Arthritis, and many others, simply by changing their diet.
It all begins with a detox. Today there are so many different detox programs. Some health food companies have made a packet promoting their herbs and various concoctions, and many are great, but costly. It is really as simple as going 100% raw food (organic where possible). Some prefer 100% raw juices which certainly speed up the process of healing and repair of disease ridden bodies- a favourite of mine. (See pages on Juicing/ juicefasting.)
Even a fast of apples and raw apple juice for a number of days can have a profound effect on one’s health.
Dr Lorraine Day tells her story of beating breast cancer, and her amazing recovery on raw carrot and apple juice, and pure water. I say fresh, as any juice coming to you from the supermarket in a can/ carton or bottle has been pasteurised, homogenised or both. This process destroys a lot of the vitamins and leaves the juice devoid of any essential enzymes. I therefore suggest a good juicer as a lifelong companion.
The underlying problems of all cancer patients are TOXICITY AND DEFICIENCY.
Detoxing the body is imperative for the immune system to take over with full control. The only way to defeat disease is to rebuild your immune system, so your amazing immune system can fight the disease.
In the animal kingdom and in traditional cultures routine fasting and allowing the body time to clean itself outhas been normal practice. Just think how many showers you take in a year to clean the outside of the body and then how many cleansers do you do in a year to clean the inside of your body?

I would like to give you a great analogy I’ve read, and that comes from the book ‘Fit for life’ by Harvey & Marilyn Diamond. “Your body is building toxaemia every day in two ways: through the normal process of metabolism and by the residue left over from the foods not efficiently utilized. As far as your weight is concerned, common sense will tell you that if more of this toxic waste is built than is eliminated, there is going to be a build up of the excess. That translates, as overweight.
Adding to the problems, toxins are of an acid nature. When there is an acid build up in the body, the system retains water to neutralize it, adding even more weight and bloat.”
He goes on to say to “imagine working with a large corporation where your job is to shred twenty boxes of written material and throw it away every day. Now let’s say that because either you don’t have enough time or you don’t have enough energy, or both, you can shred only fifteen boxes a day. That means the next day you’ll be delivered another twenty boxes-but you still have five boxes left over from the previous day. Being able to shred only fifteen, you will have ten extra boxes after the second day. If you started work on Monday and worked seven days, on the second Monday of your job after your delivery of twenty boxes, you will have a total of fifty-five boxes and be capable of dealing with only fifteen. After only one week, you have forty extra boxes. These will have to be stored somewhere until they can be shredded. But where? If you have any kind of weight problem, the above predicament is exactly what your body has to deal with. If you build more toxic waste every day than is eliminated from your body, then it is going to be stored somewhere. Your body ever attempting to protect itself and maintain its integrity tends not to store this waste in or near its vital organs. It will be stored in the fatty tissue and the muscles. That means in the thighs, in the buttocks, around the midsection, in the upper arms, under the chin- all those places where we lament the bulges most. If the problem goes unchecked, the ultimate result is not only obesity but general discomfort and lethargy as the body expends a great deal of its energy in an attempt to rid itself or this accumulated toxic waste.”
This means all one needs to do is to eliminate toxins from the body, and continue doing so that they will not build up again. That is much easier said than done of course, but there is actually a way to allow your body to do this continual cleanse without it ever building up to an unacceptable level again.”
Harvey says it’s by following these natural tools that will help achieve this: CONSUMING HIGH WATER CONTENT FOOD, LEARNING THE PRINCIPLES OF PROPER FOOD COMBINING, AND THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRECT FRUIT CONSUMPTION.
HEALTH HINT: Begin today by eating more fruit in your diet. Fruit is no doubt best eaten on an empty stomach, so even snack on fruit before each meal.
This will not only fill you and leave less room for your meal, it will help you to gradually increase your raw intake.
