GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPES

It’s really impossible to go wrong with any combination of fruit smoothie, but some combinations are definitely divine.

As a rule of thumb, to fill a blender (4-6cups) of delicious smoothie, I use:

*2 cups of water

*3 cups of fruit

*2 good handfuls of greens.

RAW Instant Veggie Soup (www.fredericpatenaude.com)

2 cup tomatoes

2/3 cup pineapple

2 cups spinach

3 stalks celery or 1 cucumber

Blend tomatoes and pineapple first, add in other ingredients progressively and blend  until smooth.

Note: You can vary this soup indefinitely by changing the vegetables used.. and you may also like to gently warm, without heating above 40deg Celsius(to maintain all enzymes)

And remember:
*Rotate your greens.

*Smoothies can last up to 3 days in the fridge, so make up one big lot, and you'll be set for quite a few meals!

Here are more ideas for your green creations.

Some of my favorite greens to add to green smoothies: parsley, spinach/baby spinach, celery, kale, cos lettuce and even cucumbers

My favorite fruits for green smoothies are: pears, bananas, mangoes and apples. Strawberries and raspberries (fresh or frozen) taste superb in green smoothies, when combined with ripe bananas.
Seasonal fruit such as peaches, nectarines, and plums work well also.

Hot Chocolate alternative (www.rawmom.com)
*hot water
*raw carob powder or cacao or a mixture of both to taste
*raw honey or agave to taste
*coconut milk or coconut milk powder to taste
*vanilla extract or powder to taste

After the water is nearly but not quite boiled, add everything to the blender and carefully blend just to mix everything smoothly.
Taste test and make adjustments if necessary. I add pods of cardamom and/or herbs or medicinal mushrooms in mine to amp up the nutrition and excitement
